Is cocoa butter coconut?

No. This one is not coconut.

No. Cocoa butter is the fat of the cacao bean, the seed chocolate is made from. Cacao and coconut are different plants; only the names look alike. On a cosmetic label it is written Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter.

Our label checker never flags cocoa, cacao or cocoa butter. What can happen is that a chocolate product or a body butter contains coconut oil as a separate ingredient, so the rest of the list still needs reading.

On a label: cocoa butter · theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter · theobroma cacao seed butter · cocoa seed butter · cacao butter · manteca de cacao
