No coconut, and the label says so on the front. What it uses instead is babassu oil, from Attalea speciosa — a Brazilian palm whose oil is the closest thing to coconut oil in cosmetics. It is high in lauric acid and it is what a soapmaker reaches for to get a coconut-like lather without coconut. Worth knowing by name: if you avoid coconut you will meet babassu often, and it is a different plant, not a hidden coconut. The rest of the bar is beef tallow, olive oil and castor oil — all named, nothing anonymous. Not vegetarian.
