In shortAsked by email on 1 October 2026 which plant the glycerin and caprylyl glycol in Dream Coat Extra Strength are made from. Color Wow answered the same day: its glycerin comes from several suppliers, who may use different sources, and batches vary, so it cannot guarantee that the glycerin in any given bottle is not derived from coconut. The reply did not mention caprylyl glycol. The product stays at “unverifiable”.

What we asked

Which raw material are the glycerin and caprylyl glycol in Dream Coat Extra Strength made from: coconut, palm kernel, palm, another plant, or synthetic?

What they said

Typically glycerin used in the cosmetic industry is derived from vegetable oil, however, we cannot guarantee it is not derived from coconut. Our glycerin is sourced from various suppliers and these suppliers may use different sources. Because we source from various suppliers and production batches may vary, it is not possible for us to guarantee the specific origin of the glycerin in any given unit of product. We acknowledge the seriousness of allergies and allergic reactions and therefore we regret that this may preclude you from using our range. Nora, Color Wow Support, 1 October 2026
